Dear Sir,
We are a group of former university Vietnamese students; studied at the Universities of New Zealand; residing in various parts of the world. We are very concerned and deeply saddened with what have been happening to our fellow Vietnamese fishermen plying their trade in the waters hitherto considered part of Vietnamese territory.
We attach with this letter, the formal petition to protest against the recent actions of the Chinese naval forces against the Vietnamese fishermen, contrary to the spirit of the very close friendship between Vietnam and China which leaders of both countries have always publicly declared to the world.
Would you kindly forward this petition to your government in Beijing at the earliest time possible.
Thank you.
Sincerely yours
Represent the group
